Laddu - ayurvedic power balls


Laddus are traditional Ayurvedic power balls that provide deep grounding and new energy with nourishing ghee and warming spices. This sweet snack not only tastes deliciously nutty, but is also a real balm for the nervous system.


Ingredients:

  • 40 g chickpea flour
  • 20 g ground almonds
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp whole cane sugar
  • 50 ml milk or soy milk
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • 1 MS ground ginger
  • 2-3 saffron threads

 

Preparation:

1. Soak the saffron threads in the milk.

2. Heat a saucepan. Stir-fry the chickpea flour and ground almonds.

3. Add the ghee, sugar, saffron milk and ginger. Reduce while stirring until a firm mixture forms. Add the cardamom.

4. Spread the mixture out on a board and leave to cool. Cut into small squares or shape into small balls.
